    Classical Belly Dance

Raqs Sharqi (pronounced "rahks shar-kee") translates to “Eastern Dance” in Arabic and is a refined form of bellydance that emerged from Egyptian social and folk dances and was later shaped by stage performance traditions. This dance style is deeply rooted in cultural history and celebrates the strength, sensuality, and grace of the body.

In this class, you’ll explore foundational techniques—hip articulations, shimmies, undulations, and isolations—while learning how to move in harmony with traditional and modern Middle Eastern music. The practice supports body awareness, core strength, and creative self-expression in a welcoming, supportive environment.

No prior dance experience is necessary—this class is open to all levels and all bodies. Come to connect, move, and celebrate the joy of dance!
